The Agreement JC Reed Jackie Steele 9781519799234 Books

That's what life is supposed to be like. As the rightful heir to Waterfront Shore, I would gladly refuse my inheritance. I don't want the money. I sure don't want to have anything to do with its dark past. Except for the letters of my deceased mother, I would be willing to cut losses and move on and give up my rich lifestyle. But my stepfather expects me to marry. And then there is my new fiancé.

The first book was exceptionally written and I couldn't wait to read book the next book. Unfortunately, this book was a miss in my opinion. The plot wasn't well developed, therefore, the authors filled the pages with mediocre sexual content. I found myself thinking several times that Laurie lacked more than self confidence. I would not be surprised to find out that Jude and Chase were working together. The only promising thing that I found with this book is that a release date has been posted for the next installment.
I was really frustrated with Amazon that the day the book was released that it was not offered on Kindle Unlimited, yet a mere four days later it is.

The Agreement JC Reed Jackie Steele 9781519799234 Books Reviews
Chase and Laurie are moving forward with their agreement. She still doesn't know much about him other than he seems to have money and she is attracted to him. It's still clear that he is up to something.
Laurie really got on my nerves in this one, she was so wishy washy. Never following through with her convictions. She was really weak when it came to Chase.
Jude pushing her into this thing with Chase, and acting as though it was real was puzzling to me. Is she in on whatever he is up to?
*****spoiler below so don't read if you don't want to know this point******
What women would immediately go into having a good time with another man, whether you sorta knew him or not, right after a near rape?
I loved reading this series, it always leaves me wanting more from each character. I loved Chase in the first book but this second book has me wondering what he's got himself into. Laurie finds herself in a situation she's not sure about however she really doenst have much choice, especially if she gets what she wants out of the agreement. Following Chase's demands isnt easy and Laurie doesnt plan on giving in anytime soon or so she says.
I love the banter between the characters, Chase is definitely the hottie everyone wants to keep as their own. I loved reading The Agreement and cant wait to see what's in store for the third book especially with the cliff hanger we were given in book two. The suspense is killing me lol
I don't usually review this type of book, simply because they ordinarily aren't worth a review, not because I don't read them. This series of three books, nevertheless, is not ordinary.
The story is exceptionally suspenseful, and the twists, when they come have caught me by surprise, despite some foreshadowing in the Prologue. The relationship between the two main characters is incendiary. It's not a normal romance novel. Not even a normal "alternative" romance. I can't even imagine where the author is going to take this story.
I could barely stand the wait between the first book and the second (which took a very long time, due to the author's illness), and the wait between the second and the third, though much shorter, was also barely tolerable.
Reed's cliffhangers are notorious. If you can do it, then wait for the third book to drop (due Feb 16th.) before you read any of them. It will help.
5 Stars.
In this follow up to The Interview, I was eager to find out more about Laurie and Chase and their plan to pull off the fake wedding. I didn't feel like answers from the first book were answered, instead I now have an even longer list for book three.
1. Who in the hell is Chase? We are told about these "dark looks", but is it more of Laurie's paranoia?
2. What in the world is Laurie so afraid of?? I understand her childhood was not typical, but alluding to the dark phobia without giving us a little more information became repetitive.
3. Would Laurie just make up her mind? Again, she continues to be indecisive about this fake marriage and Chase.
My favorite part of this book? The end...Finally, we are learning something about Chase!!
I was slightly disappointed in this installment, but was able to read easily in a day. I wished for some of Chase's point of view. I would love to get into his mind! I can't wait for book 3, Bad Boy, and hope my endless questions will be answered!
This is book 2 from the series and it didn't disappoint! The story continues easily and builds more on the characters relationship (or the one they both want but can't admit to, more so for Laurie). Chase is crazy mad in love with Laurie. Plain be simple. But there's more to him then we've been told. He's got a mysterious side and you still can't help but fall deeper in love with his character because of the passion he shows for Laurie. He's gone out of his way for her and knows that she feels the same way, but she just won't admit it. That leads us to her past. She fears something so bad that she can't let go to move forward with her life. Secretly I think she's afraid something will happen to Chase for getting involved with her and that's why she's up and down about going through with the marriage. I really shocked me about the file she found. What is his motivation behind this all. Is her really in love with her or is just about the money?
There's nothing that I dislike more than buying a book, reading the book and finding out that it's a cliffhanger. The writing was good but I hate waiting for the next book. I have waited for a year for a release of a book and it stinks because you have to reread the book. Fortunately, I didn not have to wait a year for this one. I read a lot of books and I read them to finish the story.
This story was so predictable, right down to the cliffhanger ending. The writer spent too much time on charcter building and conversations between the characters and that had nothing to do with anything...too much blah blah blah. She could have used those page for substance that could have lead to a dynamic ending. I don't recommend these books unless you have all of the books in the series and you read them all together. The only way that I'll be reading book 3 and that's if it's FREE. I have lost interest in Chase and "WHAT'S HER NAME".
